SJND Cross Country Results
Two members of the St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) women’s cross-country team finished in the top ten at the Castro Valley “Peter Brewer” Invitational Saturday, Oct. 12, at Canyon Middle School in Castro Valley.

Another game means another shutout victory for the Encinal High School (EHS) football team. This time they blanked Piedmont High School (PHS), 26-0, in the West Alameda County Conference (WACC) Foothill League contest Friday, Oct. 11, on the road.
Encinal football team posts fifth shutout of the season
The Encinal High School (EHS) Jets football team earned another shutout victory after a 35-0 win over the Trojans of Castro Valley High (CVHS) last Friday, Oct. 4, at home on Stargell Field.
The 29th Jiu Jitzu by the Bay tournament took place at the Alameda High School main gym Sunday, Sept. 29.
The Alameda High School (AHS) football team lost 21-14 to Tennyson High of Hayward Friday, Oct. 4 at Thompson Field.
It was the second time in as many games the Hornets lost a one-possession game. AHS lost to Kennedy High of Fremont 15-14 on Sept. 21.
Stephanie Bellato easily beat the field to win the Alameda Women’s Golf Club’s 88th Club Championship Sept. 26 on the Jack Clark Course.
This is Bellato’s fourth Club Championship victory. She previously won the tournament in 2009, 2013 and 2015.
Alameda High School (AHS) once again has a marching band. AHS has not had a marching band since the early 1990s. The AHS Marching Band “The Sting” performed its first halftime show at the AHS Hornets football team home opener on Sept. 6. They also performed at the Island Bowl on Sept.
The Encinal High School (EHS) Jets football team used its defensive prowess to give previously unbeaten Skyline High (3-1) of Oakland its first loss on the season Friday, Sept. 20 at Stargell Field.
