Alameda Eight-Year-Old Finishes Fourth in Skiing Tournament

An Alameda toddler spent last weekend hitting the slopes at the Dodge Ridge Ski Resort to compete in several ski competitions.

Candice Carroll, 8, competed in two under-10 events at the Giant Slalom in the Ryan Lavagnino Classic in Dodge Ridge, Calif on Feb. 6 and 7.

Pilots Look to Rebound after Section Title Defeat

Last Year’s 12-11 St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) softball team defied the odds and advanced to the Div. V North Coast Section finals where they lost 5-1 to Clear Lake.

The Encinal men’s basketball team achieved a hat trick against Alameda with a 51-46 victory last Friday, Jan. 29, at home.  

The Jets maintained control of the game throughout the third contest. Encinal came out of the gate outscoring Alameda 14-10 in the first period.
