• St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND): defeated Athenian School of Danville, 13-0 (April 18), and 7-5 (April 21).
Coming off a double championship in the girls’ division, the Lincoln Middle School (LMS) boys’ teams were not to be outdone. The Lions scored a double victory by clinching the Alameda Education Foundation’s (AEF) boys’ basketball championships in Divisions I and II.
We have watched the media try to turn the Dubs into a traveling circus and haunted house, with Draymond Green as Boris Karloff, and Wiggins as The Rock, but the truth shines through, which is that they are the best basketball team in the last 50 years.
The Alameda High School (AHS) baseball team won the 2023 Willie Stargell Classic, defeating the Bishop O’Dowd High School with a 6-2 victory in the tournament title clash.

• St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND): defeated St. Mary’s of Albany, 17-7 (April 3); lost to Head-Royce of Oakland, 6-5 (April 4); defeated St. Patrick- St. Vincent of Vallejo, 11-3 (April 6).
The most thrilling game of the first round of the annual Willie Stargell baseball tournament pitted host Encinal High School (4-7) against American High of Fremont (5-7). With the game tied 6-6 in the bottom of the 10th inning, Encinal junior Angus Olaes ripped a double to right field.

• Alameda High School (AHS) lost to College Park High of Pleasant Hill, 12-2 (March 27); defeated Bishop O’Dowd of Oakland, 9-5 (March 29), and 2-1, (March 21).
The Alameda High School (AHS) softball team used a three-run sixth inning rally to emerge victorious over Encinal High School (EHS), 4-1, in a highly competitive and exciting matchup.
