On June 23, members of the Alameda Police Department (APD) will carry the “Flame of Hope” through the City of Alameda in support of the Special Olympics Northern California.
On Saturday, June 4, the Encinal High School (EHS) chess club went undefeated against Alameda High School (AHS) in the first ever “Island Board” chess tournament. The event was held on AHS’ campus.

The Alameda High School (AHS) Athletic Hall of Fame committee will hold its fourth annual ceremony to induct and honor 10 former AHS athletes. The ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at the Alameda Elks Lodge.

The Alameda Women’s Golf Club wrapped up the 92nd Annual Fry Tournament Thursday, May 19. The Fry Tournament is in a three-week match-play format competition with golfers divided into flights based on their handicap scores.
