Islanders' 2004 Girls' Soccer Team Takes Second Place at Las Vegas Showcase
The Alameda Soccer Club Islanders’ 2004 girls' Red team went 3-1 at the Players Soccer Club Las Vegas Showcase on March 18 to 20.

The Alameda Soccer Club (ASC) boys’ 2008B team finished second at the Santa Cruz Breakers Academy Spring Cup Under-14 silver tournament on March 12 and 13. The tournament was played at the Twin Creek Sports Complex in Sunnyvale.
Susan Yoon posted the lowest net score of the day at net 69 at the Alameda Women’s Golf Club event Thursday, March 10.
A quartet of Encinal High School (EHS) men’s track-and-field athletes won the men’s 4x400-meter relay race at the Marsh Creek Invitational at Freedom High in Oakley, Saturday, March 12.
Encinal High School’s (EHS) baseball team went 0-2 last week, losing 7-1, to Oakland Tech (2-4-1) on March 2, and 14-6, to Bishop O’Dowd of Oakland (3-1) on March 4.
Competition was close last Thursday, March 3, for the Alameda Women’s Golf Club. The club played a net score format. The best net score of the day was posted by Dee Appleton with a net 63.
The Encinal High School (EHS) Athletic Boosters hosted the 22nd Annual Crab Feed Saturday, March 5th at the Alameda Officer’s Club.
The Encinal High School (EHS) softball team’s season opener against Irvington High of Fremont on Thursday, March 3, was decided after the top of the first inning. Encinal being the road team batted in the top of the first inning. Before the teams switched sides the Jets led 11-0.
Several Alameda Red Rock girls’ volleyball teams competed in the Northern California Volleyball Association President’s Day Tournament Feb. 19 to 21 at the San Mateo Event Center.
The high school baseball season started last week. Encinal High School went 1-1, defeating Skyline High (Oakland), 7-5, on Feb. 23 before losing, 6-0, to Liberty High (Brentwood) on Feb. 26.
