In his role as Alameda High head football coach, Robin Morris made it a priority to give his players tools that will help them succeed after high school.
Despite being such a small island, an impressive number of professional baseball players have come out of Alameda high schools over the years.

The 2022 high school football season begins Friday, August 26 and both the Alameda Hornets and Encinal Jets are in action.
The Alameda Women’s Golf Club hosted their weekly low net tournament at Chuck Corica Golf Course Thursday, August 18. In addition to low net honors, the club’s Low Putt charm necklace was presented to Denise Gasti after she posted a net 68 for the round.
Basketball coach Sherman Lee conducted one of his final Defend the Rim basketball clinics at Littlejohn Park Saturday, Aug. 13. He trained several Alameda youths and was joined by a couple coaches he used to coach when they were younger.
The Alameda Soccer Club’s Islanders 2012 Girls Red team won the Stanford Summer Classic D1 U11 Gold division championship on Sunday, 14 in Palo Alto.
The Alameda Women’s Golf Club hosted 47 golfers last Thursday, August 11 in a low net tournament held at the Chuck Corica Golf Course. Stephanie Bellato was the winner of the day with both the lowest net score with a net 68 and the lowest gross score with an overall 79.
St. Joseph Notre Dame junior Parker Johnson helped lead his Bay 2 Bay (B2B) boys’ youth volleyball team to a ninth-place finish in the 16-and-under Classic Division at the 49th AAU Junior Boys National Volleyball Championships.
