• St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) defeated Encinal High, 53-49 (Dec. 2); lost to Mt. Eden High of Hayward, 43-35 (Dec. 3).

Alameda High School (AHS) running back/defensive back A’Jhuan Parker was named the West Alameda County Conference (WACC) Shoreline Division Offensive Player of the Year.
All three Alameda high school cross country teams competed in the North Coast Section Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 19, at Hayward High School.
The Alameda Soccer Club (ASC) 2013G Red team won the NorCal Premier Soccer U10 Gold 3 championship after defeating Tiburon Peninsula Soccer Club Sharks 2013 Girls team, 2-0, in the finals on Nov. 13.
The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) men’s basketball team opened the 2022-2023 season with a 71-56 victory over Mt. Diablo High School of Concord in their home gym.
The Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) Asteroids cross country team hosted a meet on Oct. 26 at Crab Cove.
Football
• Alameda High School (AHS) defeated American of Fremont, 44-24 (Nov. 4) — season over.
• Encinal High School (EHS) lost to James Logan High of Union City, 44-6 (Nov. 4) — season over.
The Alameda High School (AHS) football team ended their regular season in style, sending longtime coach Steve Yamasaki into retirement with a 44-24 defeat of American High School of Fremont in front of a nice crowd of students and alumni on a cool winter night.
On Friday, Nov. 4, legendary Alameda High School football coach Steve Yamasaki was honored at halftime during the Hornets' last home game of the year at Thompson Field. Earlier in the season the beloved and longtime coach announced his retirement after 47 years of Alameda Hornet football.
