Correction
The Alameda Sun incorrectly reported the Alameda Marina architect as EHDD (“Sailors Fear Losing Local Marina,” Dec. 3). The correct name of the architect is KTGY.
Posey Tube to Close for Maintenance
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced today (Thursday, Dec. 3) that it will close the Posey Tube next week for cleaning and other maintenance.
The Posey Tube, leaving Alameda, will be closed as follows:
Recycle, or else
The Alameda County Waste Management Authority has begun issuing fines to businesses and multi-family properties still in violation of the Mandatory Recycling Ordinance that went into effect in July 2012.
Burn Off the Pie Ride
“Burn Pie Not Oil” is the theme of a family friendly ride and rally for renewable energy set for Saturday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m. The two-hour ride will start from the Crab Cove Visitor Center at 1252 McKay Ave.
Thanksgiving Office Hours
Councilman Tony Daysog will hold office hours from 1 to 3 p.m., today, Nov. 26, at Starbucks, 1364 Park St. (at Central Avenue). He will be available to answer questions and welcomes comments on city issues. He will also be at the Farmer’s Market the following Saturday, Nov. 28.
Site A Website Launched
The city of Alameda announced recently that a new website is available to help keep residents and other interested parties informed about the development of Site A at Alameda Point.
High Street Bridge to Close
The Alameda County Public Works Agency will begin repair work on the High Street Bridge on Monday, March 2. The bridge will close to traffic Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The county expects to complete the work by April 27.
Daysog Hosting Office Hours
This evening, Thursday, Feb. 26, Councilman Tony Daysog will hold office hours from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Danube Coffee House at 1333 Park St.
The councilman regularly hosts these events where he is available to answer questions and offer comments on city issues.
