Posey Tube Closed for Maintenance and Servicing
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced recently that it will close the Posey Tube for maintenance and servicing from Alameda into Oakland on Thursdays through August of this year, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
Band Review Will Close Streets Saturday, May 21
The 21st annual Encinal High School (EHS) Extravaganza of Bands will have 20 bands performing in parades on the West End Saturday, May 21. The parades will close streets to parking and traffic from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Parked cars will be towed from these streets:
Meet Your Councilman
Last-Thursday-of-the-month office hours with Councilman Tony Daysog are set for today, Thursday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Blue Danube Café at 1333 Park St. Daysog will be available to answer questions and offer comments on city issues.
Exchange Program Seeks Host Families
A dozen or more host families are needed in Alameda to host exhange students from Spain. The students arrive in late June and depart in late July. In total, some 25 students will visit Alameda this summer to participate in the EMY Program.

Sunday, April 17, through Saturday, May 21, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Caltrans contractors will close the Posey Tube to repair the pedestrian guardrail within the tube.
