The Alameda High School (AHS) Amplify Club is launching its disposable plastic waste prevention program at a second Alameda restaurant. The Amplify Club announced recently they have expanded the program to include Hang Ten Boiler at 2315 Santa Clara Ave.
Under the tutelage of Frances Kahuanui-Johnson, the Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) summer camp interns were a crucial part of this years AEF summer camps. The interns gained experience in leadership by working with younger children.

On Friday, July 15, the Tomorrow Youth Repertory (TYR) held its opening night of Heathers The Musical at The Academy of Alameda Auditorium. Five students from Encinal High School (EHS), two actors and three on tech crew, participated in the show.
Youth scuba divers from Alameda and Alameda’s Sister City, Dumaguete, a city on Negros Island in the Philippines, will be conducting reef surveys and coral restoration in Dumaguete later this month.
This summer, the Alameda Free Library is hosting “Flashlight Fridays” for children ages 5-12. This program encourages young readers to read silently and independently.
