On Thursday, Dec. 17, Encinal Jr. Sr. High School’s orchestra held its annual Winter Concert. The concert was held over Zoom with student musicians, parents, teachers and friends in attendance. Over 120 attendees were present for the hour-long event.

Earlier this month, Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft and the City of Alameda’s Social Service Human Relations Board honored three Alameda students — Henry Mills, Noa Joseph and Serena McIntosh — with Youth Services Awards.

The Students of The Child Unique/Montessori Elementary School of Alameda have taken on a new challenge in celebration of International Day of Peace on Sept. 21. In addition to creating the peace circle shown above, the students penned the following letter to the readers of the Alameda Sun.
