Throughout October, Ruby Bridges Elementary School students, staff, and families worked hard to reach and exceed their $20,000 PTA fundraising goal, raising a total of $26,000!
Third graders in Assia Day’s class at Maya Lin School recently completed an audit of their classroom library and six other libraries across the school. After the audit students realized there was a need for more diverse books in classroom libraries.
Fourth grade students in Ryan Brazil’s class at Love Elementary have created a podcast called “Little Minds Big Talks,” that aims to educate and inspire elementary school students nationwide.
On Sept. 16, 80 high schoolers from all over Alameda gathered at Encinal High School’s media center to participate in a coding hackathon. The event, hosted by IslandHacks, exceeded expectations as both beginning and experienced developers participated in the 10-hour hackathon.
