Alameda Island Poets’ reading March 2 will feature Alameda Poet Laureate Julia Park Tracey and retiring St. Joseph Notre Dame teacher Elizabeth Norris. The reading will take place at Books, Inc. at 7 p.m. Free. Open mic will follow featured readings; sign up at 7.
Mastick Senior Center is hosting a multi-media art exhibit featuring art created by members participating in the various classes offered at the center. Included in the exhibit are writings, drawings, paintings, stained glass, ceramics, jewelry, quilts and mixed-media pieces.
Alameda Cub Scout Pack 1015 (sponsored by the Alameda Elks Lodge) recently received very special recognition from U.S. troops serving in Iraq. The Cub Scouts (spearheaded by Den Leader Heather Hildreth) have been collecting and sending care packages and personal messages to U.S.
