Life Scout needs communitiy’s help

Nathaniel Basco is a Life Scout with Alameda Troop 11 on his path to Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Project, he is creating a public piano installation along the Bay Trail at Bridgeside Shopping Center (Nob Hill).

His inspiration for this project is from his opportunity to play a public piano in the San Francisco Botanical Gardens in 2019. Dates for the installation will be July 17 to Aug.

During this time, area piano teachers, their students and local musicians of all levels are welcome to perform.

He launched a GoFundMe to help cover some of the costs associated such as professional piano movers, piano tuner and anti-graffiti coating.

“Music has influenced who I am and I believe this Eagle Project can help bring the Alameda community together after 17 months of COVID- 19 restrictions and isolation.”

He started a Facebook group for announcements such as the ribbon cutting ceremony, featured performances and how people can get involved as a musician or a volunteer: https://www.facebook.com/groups/130630412416753
