No one should be executed for stealing a pack of cigarettes. But this is precisely what happened to Ethan Escorcio, a 24-year-old who was shot in the back of the head and killed on July 11 by a clerk at the Circle K convenience store on Webster Street.

All Alamedans should be outraged by this action. I would recommend they do as I will, by asking Circle K management what actions they will take to prevent their store clerks from being able to be armed with deadly weapons. Circle K corporate address is P.O. Box 52085, Phoenix, AZ.
