Ode to COVID

I ask people I call, “Keeping busy? Staying healthy? Going nuts?”

After de-pilling my socks and sweaters, phoning, emailing and even writing letters; after washing the mail, groceries and behind my cat’s ears; after making 40 masks just to calm all my fears, I started “discovering” things I’ve owned for years! Fascinating, frustrating, liberating, hibernating, “clautrophobiating.”

We are a spoiled society that requires exterior things for happiness. We need to rethink our values to get through this deadly madness.

Even though we should not be together, with some thoughtfulness, we can get through it together.

Hope you are all well at the Alameda Sun.

Thank you for being you. You are much appreciated.
