South Shore meeting left a lot to be desired

I attended the first event discussing the owners of South Shore Center, Jamestown Properties’, “South Shore Center Neighborhood Plan. Actually, this was a non-event. Sure, they had some food and wine out, but there were very few chairs available as people gathered to find out what Jamestown’s plans are.

This was not what our Alameda community wanted. Those that were there wanted an explanation from somebody at Jamestown. I expected to hear a speaker from Jamestown explain their plan. There wasn’t even a row of seats to listen to that explanation, much less a microphone to get the word out to the attendees.

Many of us had questions, but nobody was there to answer them. This was a joke.

Jamestown made a lot of locals angrym, and once that happens, it’s hard to win them over.
