Wellness center does not belong at Crab Cove
There was no deception in my letter (“Save the parks,” Feb. 14), as suggested in a more recent letter (“Measure B has nothing to do with saving parks,” Feb. 21).
The size of the proposed Wellness Center on McKay Avenue will be more than 88,000 square feet, as referenced in Alameda Point Collaborative’s application to Health and Human Services.
In my opinion, Crab Cove and Crown Beach will definitely be impacted by a facility this size. This is not the appropriate location for this facility. Special interests would have you believe otherwise. Once the area changes, our parks with their pristine beauty and history will be affected, as we now know it.
Please vote “no” on A and “yes” on B on April 9.
