Alamedans gather at City Hall last Sunday, Aug. 13, to protest the violence at the Charlottesville, Va., white nationalist rally the previous day. Three people lost their lives at Charlottesville: Heather Heyer in what most consider an act of terrorism and Virginia State Troopers H. Jay Cullen and Berke Bates in a helicopter accident while performing surveillance of the rally.

Laura Fanning organized the Alameda protest, which more than 100 people attended, including Vice-Mayor Malia Vella and Councilmember Jim Oddie.
