Students Honored for Citizenship

Students in the fifth through eighth grades received citizenship awards this year from the Delta Kappa Gamma Society.

Delta Zeta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International recently announced the 29 recipients of its leadership and citizenship award.

This marks the 22nd year that the society has awarded Alameda students in the fifth through eighth grades.

Teachers nominated the students based on exemplary citizenship. Winners receive a certificate and a $50 check.

The society promotes personal and professional growth of women educators and excellence in education by raising funds to provide financial aid for local women who are pursuing studies in the field of education and helping local schools and students with special needs.
