The Sun Shines Everywhere

Will Golden rode his motorcycle cross-country this summer to attend his cousin's retirement from the Coast Guard in Baltimore. Along the way he stopped at the Flight 93 Memorial outside Shanksville, Pa. Of course, he traveled with the Sun, which Golden hoped would offered cheery brightness to counterbalance a sad place. But Golden reports that he instead found the memorial to be quite uplifting. "The simplicity of the location encourages contemplation, and the sadness one would expect to feel is replaced by pride in the actions of the heroic passengers and crew." Staff at the Sun thanks Golden for providing this fitting reminder of the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001, even though we got to it a little late.
