It seems everyone is getting into expressing their opinion about Measure B: from pronouncements by city leaders and other nabobs to the everyday person going about his or her daily business.

Croll's Pizza owner Lorenzo Puertas, Jr. and Sonam Ukyab double-check the bologna on the pizzeria's latest creation, "Measure B" pizza.

It seems everyone is getting into expressing their opinion about Measure B: from pronouncements by city leaders and other nabobs to the everyday person going about his or her daily business.

Now Lorenzo Puertas Jr., owner of Croll's Pizza, has joined the fray.

"This vote is so important, because Measure B will bring much needed change to our little island," Puertas said. "What a golden opportunity for our city to grow and grow. People said we could never compete with the sprawl in Fremont or Pleasanton, but Measure B says 'yes we can!'"

Puertas has gone beyond anti-Measure B pronouncements by politicos like Mayor Beverley Johnson, Vice-mayor Doug DeHaan and mayoral candidates Marie Gilmore and Frank Mataresse.

He has cooked up new pizza topped with a densely packed layer of baloney, which he says he imported especially from Southern California, the home of SunCal. A sweet and smooth SunCal sauce, which Puertas describes as "a careful blend of tomatoes, half-truths and many secret ingredients complements the perfectly arranged baloney.

"The pizza's sweet honey base means you won't even taste the lies," he said.

"I am very excited to give SunCal the opportunity to add thousands of houses to Alameda as they see fit," Puertas said. "People worry about the traffic, but they shouldn't. It's 2010; so all those cars will be flying cars that run on water vapor. I'm sure that an intergalactic spaceport — and schools for all those space travelers — are sure to follow. The future looks so bright."

"This pizza is available only for a limited time," Puertas said. "But who knows? Voters may be choosing to swallow this 25 years from now."

The "Measure B" Pizza includes baloney, red onions, creamy California cheese and the aforementioned "SunCal Sauce" made of honey, tomatoes, brown sugar and secret ingredients.

This special pizza is available as a 20-inch pizza or by the slice before Feb. 2
