The "chicks" of Chicks-n-chickens, a mom-based Alameda business, are raising money to fight Breast Cancer. Darcy Novo Albrecht, "Chief Chick," and Jennifer Ashdown, "Vice Chick," will be teaming up to participate in this year's San Francisco Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. As part of their fundraising efforts, the two Alameda moms will hold a yard sale this Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to noon at 3267 Sterling Ave. Items for sale include furniture, books, baby gear, household items and more. A portion of each sale will go to the Avon Foundation.

In addition to the yard sale Novo Albrecht and Ashdown have also put together a drawing. Descriptions of the prizes and how to enter can be found on their blog, www.chicks-n-chickens.com/blog. Prizes have been donated by local artists and business-women. The raffle will end June 25, with a party on Twitter June 26, during which winners will be announced.
