About a dozen Alameda cyclists memorialized an avid rider, Ed Weiss, Sunday, July 29 with a bicycle ride in the Oakland Hills where Weiss was struck by a motorcycle passing a car exactly one year prior. More than 200 cyclists from all over the Bay Area rode to the accident site where a ceremony was held. Leaning on a "Share the Road" sign adjacent to the accident site a "Ghost Bike," painted white and decorated with flowers, serves as a memorial to Weiss.

Pictured are Alameda bikers Brian Adrich (left) and Dave Johnson flanking the Ghost Bike.
